Leslie Clarke Consulting

Leslie owned her own successful business in the financial world for over 20 years, and then about 15 years ago decided she wanted to do something that ‘really mattered.’  She brought her knowledge of effective sales techniques and good business practices to the world of substance treatment.

Over the last 15 years, Leslie has had the opportunity to speak to literally thousands of perspective clients and their families. With 40 years in recovery herself, she brings not only her sales and business administration experience but her unique personal perspective to helping people find the help they need.

Ten years ago to some, our industry looked like an easy way to make money. Lots of companies created new treatment facilities, bought other centers, built large conglomerates and new ways of treatment literally evolved. Not necessarily an effective treatment evolution.

The world of treatment has become increasingly difficult to navigate in the last several years. Whether it’s the headlines talking of “murder” in detox wards, rehabs “buying” client leads, or the insurance companies developing strategies of denying in-patient care - providing effective, well throughout treatment, which makes good business sense, is daunting. The difficulty now becomes finding ways to benefit clients yet stay fiscally sound.

The National Institute of Drug Addiction (NIDA), in its study of Principles of Effective Treatment found,

“Generally, for residential or outpatient treatment, participation for less than 90 days is of limited effectiveness, and treatment lasting significantly longer is recommended for maintaining positive outcomes. “

Try convincing the insurance adjuster a client needs over 15 days residential, detox for opiates, or anything except MAT or IOP for addicts........

How to provide effective treatment and still pay the bills? In this environment how to maximise every call? How best to attract and appeal to referents? How clients can get the best and worthwhile treatment?
